Nestled comfortably along the northwest shores of Choctawhatchee Bay in Florida’s panhandle, this friendly town is a paradise for people of all ages and interests. Originally known as Boggy, the name was officially changed to Niceville in 1910, as selected by the postmaster’s daughter. In 1915, Niceville became part of the newly formed Okaloosa County after being in Walton County.] It is a twin city with Valparaiso, which borders it on the west side.
